|September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. Each year, more than 41,000 individuals die by suicide, making suicide the 10th leading cause of death among adults in the U.S. and the 2nd leading cause of death among people aged 10-24.

|SHRM Foundation – News and Deadlines|
|Thank you to all of the chapters that contributed to the HR Florida Conference and SHRM Foundation raffle. We had 26 of the 28 Florida chapters participate and this year's event was the most successful to date with $9,501 raised for the SHRM Foundation. Read on for more news and important deadlines.
|HR Florida State Council Certification and Academic Scholarships - Due Dates Approaching|
|HR Florida State Council serves as the premier resource for best practices relating to the human resources profession for both public and private employers located throughout our state.
As a strong supporter of the SHRM Foundation’s mission to educate and develop HR professionals, we are pleased to provide academic and certification resources to advance the educational pursuits of HR professionals located within the Sunshine State. The deadlines for upcoming awards and scholarships are October 1st and December 31st.
