MONDAY NIGHT - We begin rockin’ on Monday night with the live 80s band American Hot Rods (https://www.facebook.com/americanhotrodsmusic), which will be sponsored by OrlandoJobs.com, Corporate Synergies and LAMCO Advisory Services. You can have some great fun'draising, too, with carnival games such as Plinko, duck pluck and balloon pop to benefit the SHRM Foundation and an opportunity to win TWO 2018 HR Florida conference registrations. Bring your money for tickets and a cash bar, and join us at the Bonnet Creek Pavilion Monday, August 28, 8-11 pm.
TUESDAY NIGHT–“We're rockin' around the clock through the fabulous 1950s in The Grease Experience – the entertainment theme of the 2017 HR Florida Conference. Special events culminate in Tuesday night's Sock Hop featuring the band Chrome 57, vignettes from the movie, costume contests, dance-offs and carnival games – all around an old-fashioned soda fountain. So ladies, get your poodle skirts and pink lady jackets, and men, slick back that hair, and don leather jackets and rolled-up jeans for another memory-making extravaganza.
Grease is the Word!
Entertainment Chair J. Lenora Bresler advises you to expect spontaneous shenanigans and frivolity erupting in the conference corridors as she brings us impromptu trivia games and photo ops. Just Costumes will be on-site Monday and Tuesday for you to rent your costumes for the Tuesday Night Sock Hop.
At the Carnival
Don’t forget to bring cash to the Monday night social so you can play games and win prizes! Tickets will be sold for $5 for two chances or $10 for five chances, and proceeds will benefit the SHRM Foundation.

THEN and NOW
Remember the commercials that asked, “Got milk?” Well, HR Florida is asking “Got sixty?”
If you took the SHRM pathway in 2015 to obtain your new SHRM certification, your recertification date is in 2018. However, if you have your required 60 PCDs already, early recertification will put needed money into the coffers of both your chapter and state council.
SHRM will give $20 to the member's chapter and $10 to the member's state council for each member who recertifies in 2017. It's free money SHRM is giving to support your local and state SHRM!
This incentive program not only benefits local and state SHRM entities, but also helps you because your new certification date will still remain 2021, and if it turns out any of your submitted activities were not credited, you have all of 2018 to resubmit.
If you are eligible for early recertification, we ask that you do so. You are eligible to recertify early if you have acquired 60 PDCs and are at least one year into your recertification cycle. Monies attributable to at-large members’ early recertification benefit their state councils.
So who’s “Got sixty???”
