Chaos. Mayhem. Madness. Craziness. It’s all descriptive of my week last week. A to-do list longer than my arm, a new office opening, my HR Manager retired (your guess who got to pick THOSE duties back up!), learning new software, running payroll now (yep—I got that duty too for now), three separate evening performances for my son, Mom needs lights hung on the house, decorate? Who has time? And now I have to find a stupid ornament for an ornament exchange? Seriously? Monumental eye roll at the thought. Walking around with a Grinch-esque snarl…..yep, that was me.

During certain times of the year, we take time to remember and appreciate those who have served in the US military. However, as HR professionals, there’s much more we can do to support and give back to these brave members who have given so much for our country. The SHRM Foundation is offering a new education program, the Veterans at Work Certificate, for HR professionals that will teach best practices to attract, hire, and retain veterans. Read on to learn how you can support those who have served through this program.
Recertifying? Here’s a SHRM Certification discount for you!
