After months of research and collaborative involvement of stakeholders at every level — from job seekers and businesses to state and local leaders in education, workforce and economic development — Florida’s workforce system is now unified under one name and logo — the CareerSource Florida network. This milestone makes Florida the first state in the nation to achieve a unified brand and logo for all its state and regional workforce development boards and career centers.
HRPBC Kicked off the New Year with a Bang on January 16th! The meeting included a wonderful presentation from Andy Masters, noted author and speaker, and was hosted by the new Chapter President, Tim Garman. Tim introduced the HRPBC 2014 theme, Leading Tomorrow, Today.
HRPBC is hosting their annual conference, “HR Through a New Lens” on May 14-15 at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach. This annual conference attracts more than 250 human resource professionals representing varied industries and businesses. A special pre-conference session facilitated by noted author, Kevin Kruse, will be followed by a speaker/member reception on May 14, 2014. The conference features 14 incredible breakout sessions throughout the various disciplines of Human Resources.

HRMA of Southwest Florida received the Pinnacle Award for their work raising funds for the TARGET Program. TARGET means “Tutoring and Removing Gaps in Education for Tomorrow” and raises money to provide tutoring for homeless children so they are better able to graduate high school. The Board voted unanimously to donate their winnings of $1,000 to the program.
Southeastern Student SHRM Student Games and Conference was held in Washingtion DC March 8-9, 2013. HR Florida was well represented with two teams attending the competition.
