As part of HR Florida's ongoing partnership with National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Florida, we encourage you to take this week to learn more about mental illness, help fight stigma, provide support, and educate your employees.

EEOC Training Institute

HR Florida State Council was recently recognized by the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches and the Florida Sheriffs Association. HR Florida received the Florida Sheriffs Association's Lifetime Honorary Membership Award for raising and contributing over $12,000 in cash and supplies during the 2016 Annual State Conference. This very prestigious award was presented by Pasco County Sheriff, Chris Nocco. HR Florida prides itself on giving back to Florida communities and charities.

SHRM Foundation Scholarship Deadlines

Certification Scholarship Application Window Opens deadlines: April 10 and October 10, 2017. More than 200 scholarships will be awarded to members pursuing SHRM certification. In addition, SHRM professional chapters and state councils are eligible to compete for the certification scholarship to fund programs that promote SHRM certification.

New Award for 2017 Announced

HR Florida has established a new award called the Community Impact Award for 2017. This award will recognize a chapter for having significant influence and impact on the greater community.
Workplace Diversity and Inclusion is not about hitting a target number or percentage. It is about recognizing the value of all the differences that employees bring with them to the job. What can you do this year to celebrate diversity every day?

Shadow Day NAS Pensacola

The third and final Military Shadow Day of the year was held at Naval Air Station Pensacola on November 18th. Through the partnership of HR Florida and the Department of Defense Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) program, members of the Greater Pensacola Chapter and local employers visited the Navy Reserve’s Pilot Training Wing Six.
Your completed 2016 SHAPE Report is due on or before January 31, 2017. All reports must be submitted online, and only those submitted online will be accepted.
