New Year, New Possibilities

Written by J. Lenora Bresler
Every person should be born again on the first day of January. Start with a fresh page. ~ Henry Ward Beecher

It's a new year and with it comes possibilities galore. Did the last year contain times when you felt frustrated, trapped in circumstances, destined by decisions made long ago that you wish you could change? Well, it’s a new era and that means a whole new world is possible. In fact, the time before us stretches out like a candy store of unexperienced moments that will enlighten, empower, and engage us in ways we can’t even yet imagine.

I hope that during 2016, HR Florida Review will be a small but important part in making those transformations happen for you. I hope that something you read in its covers will assist you in charting a new path for your professional life--inspiring new ideas and sparking a more intentional, strategic focus to everything you do. I also hope that in this New Year, you will allow the plethora of resources and personalities that make up HR Florida to come alongside you to aid your journey not only in substance but in plain enjoyment. Good work and meaningful development is always better when done in good company—and there is no better place for you to find good company than on the roster of the 14,000 human resource professionals that make up HR Florida.

It is said that we get out of something what we put into it. I encourage all of us to put everything we have – our efforts, energy, and enthusiasm -- into the joint effort for advancement that HR Florida represents. Find your own unique way both to contribute and to benefit from this acclaimed union of HR professionals, and let us together explore a new, satisfying, and successful path this year.

All the best,
J. Lenora Bresler, Editor
