Congratulations to the 2019 HR Florida Volunteer of the Year: Kate Shockey, SHRM-CP, PHR!
For the past two years, Kate has served on the Council as our Social Media Director. In the two years that Kate has been on the council she has increased our followers on Facebook and also on Twitter.
Kate has her master’s degree in Human Resource. She has served at her local chapter as the Webmaster, VP of Communications and is currently the President –Elect for Volusia/Flagler. Kate is the Chief Human Resource Office for the Clerk of Circuit Court for Volusia County, where she has the opportunity to continue her servant leadership role serving the staff and her community.

Donna is currently the Vice President of Human Resources for GSP Retail Services located in Clearwater, Florida. Over the past three years, Donna has initiated and implemented companywide strategic initiatives that have had an impact on hiring, employee development, retention, and culture. While her company faces challenges that many other companies face, during her tenure she has transformed the role and function of human resources in the organization, developed effective and positive working relationships throughout the organization and improved the employees' view of the company.
Congratulations to one the 2019 spring winners of the HR Florida Certification Scholarship: Kanagambigai Mariathasan!
Kanagambigai Mariathasan is a seasoned HR professional, seeking to earn a SHRM-CP. Kanagambigai has been an active volunteer with local SHRM chapters, as well as with the local church. Kanagambigai’s proudest accomplishment took place while volunteering for a “feed the hungry” program with the Mother Theresa Organization. Kanagambigai is seeking to earn a SHRM certification to allow for career advancements, specifically in the area of pay roll and benefit administration.
