HR Florida is partnering with Districts and Chapters around the state to bring valuable training to its members, at-large HR professionals, and business leaders. Mental Health First Aid training is a great resource to HR professionals and employers who may encounter and need to help individuals in the workplace. This vital training covers risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help, as well as mental health concerns such as depression and mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, psychosis, and substance use disorders.

Attendees will learn the Mental Health First Aid Action Plan:

  • Assess for risk of suicide or harm
  • Listen nonjudgmentally
  • Give reassurance and Information
  • Encourage appropriate professional help
  • Encourage self-help and other support strategies

Trainings have been scheduled on October 30 with District 8 - SHRM SWFL, HR Collier, and Charlotte County SHRM, and on October 23 with SHRM Jacksonville. Be on the look-out for more information on these trainings and one coming to your area soon!
