Bay County SHRM refused to be sidelined after their regular Chapter meeting space was badly damaged by Hurricane Michael. They utilized temporary meeting space for their monthly Chapter meeting for several months before securing a new meeting location at St. Andrew’s Bay Yacht Club. Bay County SHRM has held six monthly Chapter meetings offering HR related topics that are relevant to their member’s post hurricane HR needs. Each meeting provided recertification credit to members.

Bay County SHRM hosted a Mental Health First Aid Certification Class in April to assist their members and the business community with recognizing signs of mental health issues. Sponsors were obtained to cover the cost so the class could be offered free to all 26 attendees. Upon completion of the class, attendees left with valuable tools necessary to help others with their mental health issues as Bay County navigates through their lives post hurricane Michael.
