What's trending in the news, in business, or with our employees? Within the HR field, it can be critical to pay attention to trends. It is important to pay attention to the priorities placed on pieces of our business and our resources. We must understand the wheels and cogs of the transactions we complete. We must be able to measure our success and the completion of our work.

HR Florida could not be successful without the hard work and support of its volunteer leaders. Volunteer leaders are chapter presidents and board members who make up the HR Florida State Council. The Volunteer of the Year is an annual award that recognizes a volunteer who actively supports, promotes, and develops the human resource profession through volunteerism.

The success of HR Florida depends on the diligent work and support of local Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) affiliated chapters. The HR Florida chapter excellence awards honor the work of local Florida chapters. The awards focus on the demonstrated achievements and execution of one or more leadership core areas.

A Look at the 2013 HR Florida Conference

One of the primary functions of human resources is change management.

At HR Florida, we typically serve two-year terms. I was honored to change roles and serve as this year's (and next year's) Conference Director. As we celebrated our 35th anniversary, we were excited to look at the past, present and future of our industry, the state and our organization.
