2019 is off to a great start for the HR Florida State Council, which has been honored with the Seven Seals Award from the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a U.S. Department of Defense program, for its meritorious leadership and support of men and women who serve our country as part of the National Guard and Reserve.
Why do we have a brain? This is not a rhetorical question. Pause for a moment and reflect on why we have this remarkable organ encased in our skull, an organ that is the most complex object we know of in the entire universe. A simplistic answer is that we have a brain in order to survive. Sure, that’s not a bad answer, but it’s not a complete answer.

Bay County SHRM Honored with Humanitarian Award

During the January 4th Council Meeting, HR Florida State Council President Heather Deyrieux presented the Humanitarian Award to Bay County Chapter President Tiffani Hinds and President- Elect Stephanie Conn. Created to recognize those who have given their time, talent and/or treasure, the accolade celebrates a chapter’s caring contributions made for the well-being of its community. The Bay County honorees were presented with $1,000 for their post-hurricane recovery efforts to aid the members of their chapter.
Wise executives scan the environment of their organizations and identify a few select people who have the talent, commitment and drive to move the organization into the future. These are the people who function well on teams and assume leadership roles. They can be strong solo contributors when the occasion arises.
