It is no surprise that diversity and inclusion (D&I or, now gaining popularity, I&D) programs are prevalent across organizations as the United States is becoming a more racially and ethnically diverse society. For instance, the U.S. Census Bureau’s projections indicate that by 2060, the U.S. will no longer have a single racial or ethnic majority.
Are you bringing your “whole self” to work? Can you freely discuss your experiences and unique point of view without any risk to being a valued member of the workplace? Do you think everyone at your workplace can do so?

President’s Message

After we wrapped the last HR Florida Legislative Conference in Tallahassee, we conducted our second quarter Council Meeting.

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has awarded a 2018-2019 Merit Award designation to the Florida Institute of Technology SHRM student chapter for providing superior growth and development opportunities to its student chapter members.

In the North Florida Panhandle, District 2 includes the Bay County SHRM Chapter in Panama City and the Big Bend SHRM Chapter in Tallahassee. Both Chapters were recipients of the 2018 SHRM Excel Platinum Award and are off to an impressive start in 2019.

A typical workday for me is full of compensation and job descriptions; so, I was thrilled to venture out as a WWF Wellbeing Ambassador and fulfill my passion of encouraging and sharing the importance of healthy lifestyles at our first District 8 WWF mini preprogram team presentation.  Our first mini preprogram was held on June 26th 2019 in Charlotte County.
